The syntax and usage of Product is very simple, PRODUCT function in Excel can calculate the values or of factorial, ect. Follow this article to know how to use this funciton.

__Excel - PRODUCT function for multiplying__*Syntax: = PRODUCT (number 1, number 2, ...)***Function: multiply number 1, number 2, ect****In Which:**

- Number 1, number 2, ..., number n. n can be up to 255. (For Excel 2003, n can only be up to 30).

- If the number is in an area of data, only the values are multiplied, the value of other numbers will be ignored.*Example 1:* Multiply the number 2, 3, 4.

The formula: = PRODUCT (2, 3, 4) = 24.

- Multiply the number 3, 5, 0.

The formula: = PRODUCT (3, 5, 0) = 0.*Example 2: *Multiply column in the data table below:

Apply PRODUCT in each column:

- A5 = PRODUCT (A1: A4); B5 = PRODUCT (B1: B4); C5 = PRODUCT (C1: C4)

I have the result:

- A5 is 108 for 4 * 3 * 9 = 108. Ignore the value "b" because the PRODUCT function only receives reference to the data area.

- B5 is 10 because 5 * 2 = 10. Ignore value "a" and calculate B2 as 1.

- C5 is 0 is 0 since value in C2 is 0.

*Example 3:* Calculate salary (Salary) of employees in Employees table. Knowing that Salary is the product of Hourly Salary and Hour.

- Calculation 1: = E5 * F5 G5.

- Calculation 2 (apply PRODUCT function): G5 = PRODUCT (E5, F5)

- Double-click on the bottom right of G5 to copy the formula to the remaining cells.

PRODUCT is a function that multiplies numbers, similar to * (multiplication) in Excel. Instead of typing each number and add an * in the mid to calculate their area, we can use the PRODUCT function to multiply all the values quickly.
